Never had an issue before I upgraded to HBC 1. Also having a unrecognisable character like: [] appear at the end of all text in HBB. May be related. The reason super mario war takes so long is because it is a huge folder. And about the apps not working it might be because the little switch on the side is locked.
I think its called "write-protection" or something. It probably doesn't have anything to do with it, but you may as well try. Phoenix I had the same results.
Mario works, but Mplayer doesn't. I was able to download Mario via homebrew channel, but ran into the cannot create folder error with Mplayer. When I try to start it the screen goes black and I have to restart at console.
This has been the result with many apps actually. Waxy I saw the recommendation to check the lock on the disk in another post somewhere, so I did verify that my SD card is unlocked.
